Best time to eat out is in summer

I don't know how to begin to explain it, but summer is the best time to eat out. It may be the warmth, the idea that "best meals happen after a day at the beach" or the shortened waiting time, but it's the best time.
Restaurants start having more happy hours, new refreshing drinks, there's less pressure from work and you can eat in the terrace or on those awaited back patios.
When it comes down to brunch, there are a lot of options in Puerto Rico, especially in San Juan. For that reason, picking a favorite place is rather a hard thing to accomplish.
It was Monday morning, I remember it was a holiday, and we had gone to the beach the day before, so we were looking for a place to have a good meal. San Juan can get a little crowded and because of that we knew that wherever we went there was going to be waiting time.
I remembered I had seen Madeleine Cafe Bistro's feed on Instagram and it looked really good, also a friend had recommended their pastries.
We got there around 11 am, it was packed, but they managed to get us a table in less than five minutes. They gave us a seating outside, where we could see the people passing by and enjoy the summer breeze.
Starving, like two normal millennials who are always hungry, we made a run down through the menu and stopped at "Tartines". I scrolled down and the word "hummus" got my attention. The tartine came with hummus, plum tomatoes, balsamic reduction and Pecorino cheese.
You know when you eat something and is everything you want it to be? That was the case.

To go with the tartines, Joe and I got a cappuccino and a seasonal mango iced tea. Yes, I said mango, it was amazing.
While all of this was happening, the waitress was so attentive and made really good suggestions. So, apart from being one of the best brunches in San Juan, the service is impecable.

For main dish, I ordered the eggs benedict, which had the most consistent hollandaise sauce I've ever had. Joe had the seared tuna sandwich with onion marmalade. The tuna was accompanied by mixed greens, aioli and it was served on ciabatta bread. The marmalade was amazing and the sandwich came with homemade fries.

We ended up extremely satisfied and ready for dessert. Did I mention that they do pastries? If I already did, I had to remind you guys again, because you can't leave without having at least one.
I wanted to try the cake pops and Joe had the spanish pastry called "alfajor" that had caramel and striped coconut.

That meal was everything we wished for. The prices were affordable, the service, as I mentioned before, was amazing and the food... just look at the pictures and take my word for it, you won't be disappointed.
